If you're new to yoga or meditation, please read on... It's not as mystical and overwhelming as it may seem, and the benefits to your overall health can be amazing! Both disciplines are best taught and learned by working in small classes, or ideally on an individual basis. Come join us, you might just be surprised at what you can do, and how good it makes you feel...
Here at the Lighthouse we offer personal one-on-one sessions, or sessions for up to three people by appointment. Yoga or meditation (or both!) is available for bookings of 30, 60 or 90 minutes.

Your choice of styles - Yin, Hatha, Vinyasa or Ashtanga...
Yin Yoga
Great for stress relief and if you are feeling tired from a hectic day or week. Gentle stretches, held for longer, to aid in allowing the body to release tension deep within the muscles. Great for stiffness. Increases flexibility and circulation.
Hatha Yoga
Medium paced. Improves flexibility, especially in the spine and hamstrings. Particularly beneficial as you get older, to help maintain an healthy range of motion and increase strength - especially in your core - to reduce injury and falls. Light to moderate aerobic workout, incorporating some breath work, to enhance strength, flexibility and balance.
Vinyasa Yoga
A smoothly gliding and moderately paced class focused on enjoying yoga as exercise. Vinyasa is a modern fusion between asanas, using breath to connect each of the flowing postures.
Ashtanga Yoga
A stronger, more cardio style, workout with more swiftly flowing movements. Ashtanga helps you loose weight, tone and strengthen your core while relieving stress by increasing focus and awareness of the body.

You can select from a Guided Meditation (perhaps focused on particular themes you wish to address), a Silent Meditation (we will create the environment and remain present for you as you return from your journey) and of course Mediation to Music as Medicine... Meditation has undergone extensive and rigorous scientific evaluation in recent years, thanks to wonderful advancements in technology.
