Melissa...
I gently laugh when I look back and think of the many "unusual" circumstances and things that happened earlier in my life. To me, it was simply business as usual... But when everything came crashing down during the spiritual awakening, suddenly the coincidental synchronicities and tall-but-totally-true events easily fell into place. The stunning beauty and dignity of it all still leaves me speechless at times.
I've been an award-winning author, and a nationally-recognised music teacher, but now my passion has permanently shifted towards sharing the infinite joy, wisdom and love that is available to every one of us. We don't know what we don't know!
It's the inner peace - finally acknowledging that "deep knowing of truth" we are all born with and seem to lose so quickly - that inspires me now.
To the Lighthouse at Narrabeen I bring a B.Mus.Ed. (Sydney Conservatorium), L.T.C.L. (Music, London UK), Diploma in Remedial Massage (Australian College of Massage), Psychology (Sydney University), Senior First Aid qualifications and extensive experience in grief, palliative care, funerals, and some extraordinary life experiences too. I've built and captained yachts, I've cooked sausages over flowing volcanic lava (not my finest hour for sensible thinking!), I've conducted big musical groups in front of thousands, I've had lightning balls in my bedroom - three times! - and I died at the age of 44 when came off my 1100cc motorbike at 120km/h, hitting a kangaroo in the dark of a cool outback NSW evening in 2013... Or at least that's what happened first...
But, perhaps most remarkable of all, I've slowly but surely awakened to the truth that we are all spirits first, living for a time in physical bodies.
The evidence I've personally witnessed is now absolutely rock solid concrete for me. Beyond intellectual argument, beyond faith or belief, beyond dispute. We don't die. Our bodies do, but we don't.
Amazing, hey? Who knew?!
